This is by Jules Cheret. This poster was created in the 19 century and is entitled "La Gomme". One common feature I am seeing between each one of Cheret's artworks is that he uses a variety of bold, bright colors. However he also compliments the colors with shades (or some other form) of black. I really like this one because I think it shows both sides of male and female. The men being in the black and women in the lighter colors. Each color balances the other and I just think the people look so lovely.
Jules Cheret #2
This is another work from Jules Cheret. This is a banner for the famous french whore house The Moulin Rouge. I love how the colors and textures are so bright and bold, just like the Moulin Rouge itself. I also enjoy looking at the woman's spotted dress and how it flares out and upwards into the form of playing cards! Amazing!

charles rennie mackintosh
Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Scottish architect, artist, and furniture designer. This work of art is titled Petunias. Its was created in the year 1916. I like this picture because I have always loved watercolors!!! I find every detail to be very beautiful. The colors work well with one another and the spotted background creates a bold effect.
Jules Cheret.
Jules Cheret is known as the "Father of the poster". He revolutionized the field of advertising by his contributions in design and printing techiques. The man designed over 1000 posters! The true Poster Master! I find this piece to be overall very striking. The title popped and the mixture of shadows made every colorful shade brighter. This poster was created for the Opera titled Theatrophone. It was made somewhere in the year 1932 by the french artist Jules Cheret.
